This Privacy Policy describes how CleanSlate ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use the CleanSlate app.

1. The short version

CleanSlate stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect it, transmit it, or store it on any server. No account is required, no login, no name. Your data never leaves your phone.

2. What data does CleanSlate store?

CleanSlate stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Which substances you're tracking (alcohol, smoking, and/or vaping — tracked independently) and your chosen mode for each (Quit or Moderate)
• Your start date for each substance you're tracking
• Your daily check-ins, including mood, craving intensity, and any trigger or notes you add
• Quick craving logs, including which coping tool you used, if any
• Post-slip debrief entries (time of day, who you were with, how you were feeling), including any entries you log retroactively
• Any custom triggers you create (Premium)
• "Log a win" entries you record
• Your responses to the optional environmental preparation checklist
• Any goals you set in Pot of Gold and your progress toward them
• Badges you've earned
• Your nickname, your reasons for using the app ("why it matters"), and any personal statement you write
• Your average spend on each substance you track, and your chosen currency, if entered — used only to calculate the on-device savings shown in Pot of Gold
• Your notification and tone preferences
• Your subscription status (managed by Apple)

None of this data is transmitted to us or any third party. It exists only on your device.

3. What data do we collect?

We collect no personal data from the CleanSlate app. We have no servers receiving data from the app. We have no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.

If you contact us by email for support, we will receive your email address and the contents of your message. We will only use this to respond to your query.

4. Biometric app lock

If you enable the optional Face ID / Touch ID app lock (Premium), CleanSlate does not collect, see, or store any biometric data. Face and fingerprint matching is performed entirely by Apple's operating system on your device; CleanSlate only receives a yes/no confirmation that you were authenticated. We have no access to and do not store any biometric information.

5. Payments

CleanSlate Premium purchases are processed entirely by Apple via in-app purchase, using RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We do not see or store your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to payment processing and is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.

6. Not a medical service

CleanSlate is a self-tracking tool. It is not a substitute for professional medical, clinical, or addiction treatment advice, and does not provide diagnosis, nicotine replacement therapy guidance, or any clinical service. If you are concerned about your alcohol or drug use, please speak to a doctor or a qualified support service.

7. Children

CleanSlate is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us at hellotrekt@proton.me.

8. Your rights

Because all your data is stored locally on your device, you are in full control of it at all times. You can delete all your data using the "Delete all my data" option in Settings, or by uninstalling the app. No request to us is necessary.

If you are located in the UK or EEA and have concerns about how your data is handled, you have the right to contact your local data protection authority.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. We encourage you to review it periodically.
